June Five of us were standing around an examination table in my trainer’s room. Everyone had their arms crossed and looked concerned… except for Cole, who was sitting on the examination table with a frustrated expression. “I don’t see the need to go public with this,” the Reapers’ marketing guy said. “Players are scratched at

Cole I was sitting at a coffee shop, waiting for my friend to arrive, when Rhett sent a group text to me and June. What now? I thought while opening my phone. Rhett: Hey captain, did you hear about the extremely sweet movie date I took June on? Me: Movie date? What are you, sixteen? Rhett:

June When I was a physical trainer at the University of Georgia, the week between Christmas and New Year’s was always relaxing. The bowl games we played in were usually done by then, so I rarely had any real work to do. Not so with the Atlanta Reapers hockey team. After playing a game the day after

June It was dark outside when I left the arena, and there were only a few cars remaining in the parking lot. I was on autopilot, thinking about Elias’s acceptance and how the team was currently in first place in their division. I was also glad that I’d gotten out of work early, because it

June When I took the job with the Atlanta Reapers, I was worried about how I would be treated. More specifically, I was concerned about sexism. I was a woman who was replacing Andy, a trainer who was notoriously competent and well-liked. I was afraid it would take years for the testosterone-filled players to respect me. But

June I hated seeing the team lose. It made me feel helpless, sitting on the bench and watching them struggle. It was a harsh reminder that even though I felt like part of the team now, I was secondary. Whether they won or lost was ultimately up to the players on the ice. On a

Cole Despite being late for practice, I was having an amazing day. I floated through my obligations as if I didn’t have a care in the world. I didn’t even mind that I had to go to the optometrist and get an emergency order of contact lenses. The only thing I thought about was my date with

June My bed was cramped with three people in it, but I didn’t mind. I was in the middle, with Cole to my right and Rhett to my left. We were all still nude, skin touching up and down our bodies. It was such a strange sensation snuggling with two different men at the same

June Excuse me, what? I’d been having the most wonderful first date with Cole. We were hitting it off in a way that was extremely rare, in my experience. I’d spent the whole drive home thinking about what might happen upstairs in my apartment. When I saw Rhett standing outside the building, I thought the night
