Chapter
Seventeen
Unfortunately, it wasn’t as simple as them catching a ride back to their house. First, Cayden needed to be checked over by the paramedics before he could be allowed to leave. He had some cuts and scrapes, plus a severe bruise on his right knee. One of the paramedics removed a piece of glass from his upper arm that Cayden swore he hadn’t realized was there when Trixie glared at him.
Once cleared, he was then questioned by multiple different people, all with different ranks and positions. Trixie wondered if some were just asking questions because they saw the opportunity to talk to Cayden. He mentioned more than once that he did nothing but huddle on the floor like a baby. She knew he was joking, but a part of her wondered if he felt like he hadn’t done enough.
The fact that Massey had gotten away was the only black stain on the very successful bust. Even the state troopers, who were finally brought in on the fact that the heist had been an undercover sting, had lost their ire towards Cayden once they learned the true score. The fact that the police currently were standing in a massive warehouse where a good portion of Carver’s products were stored seemed to bring an air of ease to everyone.
Once she saw Lee, she also made sure to check him over. When she knew he was fine too, she slapped him across the face in front of his brothers in blue for endangering Cayden’s life and then she kissed his cheek for saving Cayden’s life. Cayden was vague on the details, but she understood that Lee had shot a man before he could shoot Cayden. She’d be forever grateful to Lee for that.
Lee dropped a kiss to her forehead. It was unexpected and she treasured the gesture, because she knew how rare it was.
Holloway was there too. He somehow kept a semblance of order in all the chaos. She was grateful she wasn’t in his shoes. He refused to let her pay to have his chair reupholstered. Trixie still couldn’t believe she’d thrown up on the man’s chair. A part of her figured it was better than vomiting on the man himself, but it was a very small part. She had been so embarrassed, but the former Marine wouldn’t hear her apologies.
Cayden and Trixie had been moved to another side of the lot when a large armored van was driven in to transport the prisoners. Cayden, keeping a hand on Trixie’s, led her back over when a tall bald man was led out. She was sure he was torn between wanting to keep her away from this man but also being unable to break his hold on her. She followed willingly, giving him whatever support he needed.
“Carver,” he said, still gripping her hand. Trixie blinked, finally putting a face to the name. “Talk to Detective Romero. Massey’s going down. He incriminated himself and more tonight. There’s no reason to go down with him.”
Cayden’s words surprised Trixie. Hadn’t the point of his undercover work been to take down Carver? Why would he be trying to help him now?
Carver gave Cayden a once over and then said the last thing Trixie would have ever expected of the criminal. “Thank you for saving Bucky. I don’t know if it means anything to you, but he wasn’t supposed to be here today. He came to celebrate with you.” Trixie felt Cayden stiffen next to her. “Maybe…” Carver sighed. “Maybe if you can get out, so can he. Maybe he could have a better life than either of us could offer him. Will you look out for him?”
Cayden nodded once. “Yes.”
Carver glanced over his shoulder. Trixie didn’t know what he was looking at. Maybe he was looking nostalgically at all he’d just lost? When he looked back at Cayden, though, Trixie thought his eyes looked sad. “Romero will need to come talk to me soon before Massey gets to me.” He took a step towards the transport before pausing. “Watch your back, Cay. He’ll be after you too.”
“Good thing my soon-to-be future brother-in-law’s a cop.”
A gasp escaped her. Of all the things for him to say! Trixie buried her blushing face into Cayden’s shoulder. The need to hide her embarrassment kept her from seeing Carver’s departure.
Holloway finally found them. Before he offered to have some uniformed cops take Cayden and her home, he told Cayden that he was going to handle Bucky’s case personally and make sure the kid was taken care of. When he waved the officers forward, Trixie recognized them from the day Cayden had stolen the Spyder. Hail, maybe? She couldn’t recall the other one’s name. As they got closer, she read his nametag, V. Sutton.
Neither looked thrilled to see them and it was only after they were in their cruiser that Trixie learned why.
“You removed their steering wheel?” she gasped out. She didn’t know if she should be shocked at his audacity or impressed at his creativity.
Cayden shrugged. “People always go for the tires. It’s so boring.”
She ended up laughing. He gave her a smile that sent a shiver down her spine and curled her toes in anticipation. Cayden leaned forward and kissed her. The kiss was slow and gentle, but no less intimate. When one of the officers cleared his throat from the front seat, Cayden just waved the man off and continued to kiss her.
When the officers pulled into their driveway, Cayden broke away from her. The officers let them out of the backseat. Cayden led her from the vehicle, still not letting go of her hand. Trixie thanked them, her cheeks aflame at what they’d witnessed the last twenty minutes of the ride.
The lights were off at the house. Realizing her keys and Firebird were still at the police station, along with her coveralls, Trixie brought Cayden around to the backyard. Papá had always kept a spare house key in a box. She really hoped it was still there.
Luck was on their side and she found the hide-a-key box attached to one of the beams under the back porch.
Cayden scoffed. “I could have picked the lock. Probably would have been faster than that little scavenger hunt.”
She glared at him. He was holding up his phone as a flashlight. “I think you’ve broken the law enough for a couple of lifetimes.”
He gave her a cocky smile as he led her up the porch steps. “Just one or two.”
Trixie rolled her eyes and let them in. She hadn’t been to the house since the day he’d left. She paused.
His arms came around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. “What’s wrong?”
“Just thinking of the food I left in the fridge for two months and the trash I never emptied.”
A snort escaped him. “How about I take out the trash while you go draw us a bath? We can attack the fridge tomorrow.”
Trixie smiled. She liked that plan. “Deal.”
She flipped on the kitchen lights, semi-surprised the room wasn’t swarming with flies. Trixie went to head towards the bedroom, but he caught her hand and pulled her back to him. He kissed her fiercely. Trixie curled her body around his, taking everything he offered. She could feel his hardness and craved it.
He lifted his mouth off of hers, leaving her swaying and breathless. He grinned like he’d accomplished a task and then kissed her nose. “Go draw that bath. I’ll be right there.” Trixie had to shake her head to clear it of the fog. She turned towards the bedroom. At the slap on her ass, Trixie yipped. He met her glare with a look of encouragement. “Go.”
She went.
By the time he came into the room, he was free of all his earrings. They would have to pick up something to remove the green dye from his hair. She didn’t have anything in the house but scissors that could accomplish that task. His eyeliner would come off in the bath. She wasn’t sure if she had nail polish remover in the house but would check before they went out.
Cayden was gloriously naked. She wouldn’t be surprised if he’d tossed his clothes in the can in the garage when he took out the kitchen trash.
Steam filled the room, but she shivered. “I love you.”
His mismatched eyes met hers and she saw his responding affections, but it still made her feel wonderful to hear it all the same. “I love you too.”
She lifted her arms into the air, an invitation he quickly accepted. He slipped his hands under her tank top, running his callused skin up her flat belly to cup her bare breasts. She held still, allowing him to explore. Cayden dropped his mouth to that place below her ear that he loved. Gooseflesh rose as he gripped the hem of the tank top, bringing it up slowly. Despite the warm air hitting her, her nipples perked at their reveal.
“So fucking beautiful,” he breathed before dropping his mouth to her left breast. Trixie’s back bowed, giving him full unhindered access. She had to grip the strong muscles of his arms so she wouldn’t fall.
Her jeans and panties were dropped until all she wore was his coin necklace. He lifted her and her legs automatically went around his waist. She could feel his arousal, so hard, pressed between them.
Trixie expected him to step them into the tub but, instead, she felt the coolness of the bathroom marble counter under her bottom. He fumbled for the top drawer where they’d stashed some condoms months ago for a quick grab for shower sex.
She stopped his hand. “Not necessary.”
His brows furrowed, and Trixie wondered what thought had crossed his mind just then. “Why not?”
“Because, Mr. Russo, you completed your mission and you came back to me.” Trixie spread her legs to give him an unhindered view of her wet pussy. It was the most wanton position she could think of. “And I completed my mission, per your request. I’ve been on birth control for five weeks. I didn’t tell you last week because we only had a few hours and I didn’t want to waste time talking.”
Cayden’s nostrils flared as he stared unabashed at her offering. He grabbed her ankles and placed them on the edge of the counter, spreading her wider. Then he knelt before her. She felt her walls pulse just at the sight of his mouth so close to her.
“You are fantastic and beautiful, my little gearhead.” He ran a single finger from her belly button down to her still bare labia and into her wet folds. She moaned, and he hadn’t even entered her yet. She felt his lips against her inner thigh, just below the crease of her leg. “But not tonight, baby. I need to get tested before I take you bare.”
Her mind was in the fog of sex, but she understood what he was saying. “Why? I trust you. I know you were faithful to me.”
His kiss on her leg turned into a bite. It was light but shocked a vocal yip out of her. “Damn straight. I’m thankful there’s no doubt in that regard. However, I was just in a pretty dangerous situation where there was blood flying and I have a couple of open cuts. It might seem silly, it might seem ridiculous, but I won’t take any chances with you. Let me get tested and we’ll take a vacation. Anywhere you want to go for however long you want to go. And I’ll take you bare. Over,” he kissed the spot he’d just bitten, “and over,” he kissed the identical spot on the opposite thigh, “and over,” he kissed her labia, “again.”
Then he ducked his head lower. Trixie fell back against the mirror, unable to keep herself up straight. His talented tongue and fingers brought her right up to the brink of orgasm. He sucked, flicked, nibbled, and twirled her like he knew exactly what her body needed and when. Trixie’s ability to speak was rendered to nothing more than moans and groans.
She gasped when his mouth was suddenly gone. She heard the telltale sound of the packet ripping. As much as she trusted him, she appreciated the fact that he wanted to ensure her safety completely before he took her bare again.
Trixie sat up on the counter, not wanting to miss seeing his entrance into her body. It was one of the most erotic things she would ever see. The way he took possession of her from the inside out. She was his, in every way.
They both groaned when he finally entered her. Trixie ran her hands down his hard chest, dragging her nails. She saw his shiver, which brought a smile to her face. She moved her exploration to his navel and then around to his ass. His cheeks were clenched, like he was trying to keep himself still.
“Trix,” he said through gritted teeth, “I’d love to let you explore, but later. It’s been too long. I need to move.”
She looked up at him wickedly. “Too long? You had me last week.”
He put his hands on her hips and thrust the rest of the way inside. She let out a shout of rapture. He rested his head on her shoulder and she could feel his heavy breathing. “Like I said, too long.”
She smiled, though he couldn’t see it. “Then take me. Make me yours, Cayden.”
He moved, thrusting and grinding into her like he’d die if he didn’t continue. Trixie felt her walls quake around him, surprising both of them with her quick orgasm. Cayden hissed and quickly reached down to grip the base of his cock.
“Not yet,” she could have sworn he said.
It took a moment for him to get himself back under control and for her to catch her breath. Then he pulled all the way out and plunged himself back in. He did it over and over again, growing faster with each assured stroke.
“Close,” she warned.
He dipped his hand between their bodies. A single well-placed flick of his fingers toppled her over the edge. Trixie shouted out as her second orgasm took her.
He grabbed it up with a swift kiss. His hips ground into her once more before he shuddered his own release and groaned into her mouth.
It took some time for Trixie to catch her breath and for her vision to clear. While she didn’t have anyone else to compare it to, she was pretty sure sex couldn’t get much better than that. And, if it did, she was equally as sure it would kill her.
“Our bath is about to overflow.”
Cayden raised his head sleepily from her shoulder. He reached over and turned off the tap. The movement pulled him out of her. She shivered at the sensation against her sensitive skin.
Cayden discarded the condom, lifted her off of the counter, and then carried her into the tub. The water was warm and rose dangerously close to the edge with their added density. She reached forward to drain it slightly.
She soon realized that Cayden was on the verge of passing out and decided that this was going to be a quick bath. He might be able to lift and manipulate her at will, but she certainly couldn’t him. She’d need his assistance to get him to their bed.
She reached up and started to cup water into his green spiked hair. She was pretty sure there was a new hole in the ozone just from the amount of spray he had to have used to make it stand on end like this. When he started to sag forward, Trixie urged him to turn around, so his front was resting against the edge of the tub. She quickly stood and went into the shower to get shampoo and then grabbed a drinking glass from the counter. They must have left it there during their first and only weekend at the house.
She worked to clean him and then shampooed them both. His eyes had been closed for several minutes, but she suspected he was still awake. She was losing him to the land of dreams though. Trixie reached over and opened up the drain.
It took some encouraging words to get him to stand. She guided him out of the tub, not trusting his eyes were open enough to do it on his own. Trixie dried him off and then herself using the same towel.
Cayden more plopped into bed than laid down. An odd feeling touched her chest as she saw him once more in their bed. It wasn’t the same as when he’d come to Romero’s the week before to see her. They’d both known he’d had to leave again. But seeing him once again here, it brought her relief to a new level. Cayden was back, and she was never letting him go again.
Trixie crawled into the bed behind him, not caring that there was a whole other side of the bed available for her use. He wasn’t so out of it where he didn’t wrap his arm around her waist and pull her closer to him.
When Trixie woke up, the nightstand clock said it was a little after five in the morning. She had no desire to get up, but it had occurred to her the night before that she’d left Romero’s in a hurry that afternoon without talking to any of her employees and had yet to be back. While she was sure Jeff and Joey could take care of anything that came up, it had still been rude. She owed them an explanation.
Trixie grabbed some clothes from her dresser that had been left at the house and slipped from the bedroom. Cayden was exhausted and sleeping like the dead. She didn’t want to disturb him.
She had to figure out how to get to the police station. Her keys, phone, and coveralls were in Captain Holloway’s office. Her Firebird would still be in the parking lot.
Trixie stopped. Cayden hadn’t turned off the kitchen lights after taking out the trash last night. On their kitchen table sat her phone, folded coveralls, and car keys. A small piece of paper lay next to them.
Abeja,
Figured you’d need these. Car’s outside. I’ll meet you at Romero’s in the morning to help you smooth things over with your employees. We found the Spyder. I’ll bring it with me.
A low laugh escaped her before a shudder went through her. Lee had slipped in and out of her house without them knowing. If it had been anyone else but Lee, that thought would have been terrifying. Then again, depending on what time he’d come in and the sounds he might have heard from the bathroom, he deserved it for just not ringing the damn doorbell. Hopefully he’d come in after they’d been passed out in bed.
Trixie moved the note to the counter so Cayden would easily see it. Then she added her own note that she was headed to work, told him to rest, and she’d see him when she got home with pizza. They could start decorating their house for Christmas then. She ended the note,
XOXO, Trix
True to his word, her Spyder 918 was in the parking lot when she pulled into Romero’s. It was still dark out, but the lamps cast enough light where she could make out Lee’s slumbering frame in the driver’s seat. She didn’t even make it to the door to tap on it when his eyes suddenly opened like he’d just been taking a long blink. He didn’t look sleepy, coming to full attention as he spotted her.
He got out of the Spyder. “Where’s your partner in crime?”
“Still passed out. He crashed hard last night.”
Lee nodded once. “He had a good scare in that warehouse. That’ll shake anyone. It’s better you let him rest.”
Trixie bit her lip to ask once again the details of Cayden’s scare. She knew, though, that Lee would just give her the same vague answers he’d given her the night before outside the warehouse. “Thank you for bringing me my car back.”
“Holloway figured you’d want it back.”
She stuck her tongue out at him before leading him to the employee entrance. “Are you planning on leaving that undercover car down the street from my house forever more?”
Lee didn’t comment on the fact that she’d noticed her extra protection. “Just until we catch Massey. Holloway’s insistence.” Trixie paused on her way inside when Lee touched her arm. “I heard Cayden’s little jokes yesterday about how all he did was curl up into a ball like a little girl. I don’t think he fully grasps the significance of what he gave us. For the first time, we have solid, indisputable evidence against Massey. Cayden helped bring down Carver, who’s flipping on Massey to gain protection and a lesser sentence. None of that would have happened without Cayden. The fact that he was unarmed in the middle of a gunfight is not something to be ashamed of. I hope you can help him see that.”
Trixie cocked her head at Lee. “Careful, gran hermano, it almost sounds like you’re concerned about him.”
Lee just raised an eyebrow, which Trixie took as an admission and smiled. He followed her inside. Trixie turned on the bay lights. A Corvette sat in the first slot with a Lotus next to it. She let out a sigh of contentment, loving the sight of her job.
Trixie and Lee hung out in her office, just talking, until her employees started to filter in. Or, rather, she talked to him. Lee nodded, grunted, snorted, and raised his eyebrow. She did notice that he was wearing his gun and badge around his belt. He must have grabbed the lockbox from the house the night before when he dropped off her stuff.
Jeff knocked on her door a little after eight. The look on his face said he saw the return of the Spyder out front. His elation rose when he noticed Lee sitting in her office with her.
The two men embraced. Despite his absence as an adult, Lee had grown up at Romero’s as much as she had. Jeff was as much their surrogate uncle as Greg was.
Jeff stood back, gripping Lee by the shoulders. “What are you doing here? And damn, is it good to see you.”
“I’ll explain at your meeting,” was Lee’s response.
Trixie rolled her eyes. Had her brother always been so cryptic? “He’s brought us back the Spyder.” She tossed the keys to Jeff, who caught them easily. “Can you move it around back so we can run diagnostics and get it cleaned up before we put it back on the floor?”
He nodded once. “Sure thing. I’ll be only a few minutes. Most of the employees are in the breakroom already.”
Lee and Trixie journeyed down to the staff room. She made a mental note to ask him if he intended on Paul continuing to spy on her through her security system. She had a feeling the answer would be the same as in regard to the undercover cop car down the road from her house.
Like Cayden, Lee didn’t follow Trixie to the front of the room. Instead, he hung back, his lack of jacket and tucked-in shirt displaying his gun and badge openly.
Trixie rolled her eyes at the image he presented. “Merry Christmas Eve. For those of you who don’t know, this is mi hermano, Detective Lee Romero. He brought us back the Spyder I’m sure all of you saw out front.”
Gary caught her attention. “I knew you had older brothers, but I didn’t know one was a cop.”
Yeah, neither did I, Trixie thought cynically, but didn’t say out loud. “Lee’s going to speak with all of you real quick, and then we’re going to get started with our day. Will, the Spyder’s been added to your ticket list.”
Will nodded once and then faced the back of the room like the other employees.
Lee stood up off the wall. He put his hands on his hips, and Trixie swore she heard a feminine sigh. Gross. “I am here to speak with you regarding Cayden Russo.” Lee paused to allow the employees their reactions. It broke Trixie’s heart to see that most of them were negative. Jeff stepped into the room then, which was good. She didn’t have to repeat what Lee said to him then. “Cayden Russo has been working undercover with the police department to bring down the local chapter of the Black Pythons Motorcycle Club, who also had ties to a local drug kingpin. To ensure his cover, Cayden stole the Spyder. His actions were sanctioned by the police department and he will be receiving a commendation from the mayor himself for his actions.” There was a unanimous gasp following that announcement, including Trixie. She hadn’t known that. She had a feeling Cayden didn’t either. “He will be free to return to work here as soon as he wishes with Trixie’s full consent. She was aware of why he left, though she was not aware of the Spyder theft prior. Please address any questions in regard to this case to me. I will be around for most of the day. For now, I hope each of you will welcome Cayden back to the Romero family.”
Lee nodded once and then leaned back against the wall with his arms crossed.
One by one, the employees turned to the front of the room and Trixie. She felt like she’d swallowed a bunch of rocks. Her throat felt dry and her stomach felt heavy.
Finally, she said, “I’m sorry for my deception. For obvious reasons, no one could know. I apologize again for my behavior following Cayden’s departure. I’m sure you can understand my attitude better now, though it certainly doesn’t excuse it. I was a wreck, but none of you deserved to be brought down with me.”
As a way to ease the tension in the room, she grabbed the large mason jar from behind her and held it out in offering. “Any other news anyone wants to share?”
People were slower to break the silence, but eventually, dollars were raised and the jar was passed around as her employees made their announcements. Payton, who’d returned to work a month before Cayden’s departure, announced that his baby daughter enjoyed slithering on her belly like a snake. He even pulled out his phone to show a video. Everyone laughed and applauded like the infant was there to earn their praise.
The jar was passed back to Trixie. She leaned her bottom against the table, gripping the jar around its base to her front. She opened her mouth to thank her employees when the door to the breakroom opened. Trixie blinked in surprise.
Cayden stood in the doorway. He was once more in his slacks, boots, and button-down shirt. He must have taken scissors to his hair because the green tips were gone and it was marginally shorter. While she had wished he had slept longer, she was glad he was here. He was back where he belonged. Here. With her.
As he stepped into the room, she saw Peggy, Greg, and Geordi follow him in. Trixie cocked her head in confusion. What were they doing here? Had they run into Cayden downstairs or had they all come together? The latter didn’t make any sense, but the former didn’t explain why Greg, Peggy, and Geordi were at Romero’s at eight-thirty in the morning.
Cayden reached into his front pocket and pulled out a hundred dollar bill. Silence fell over the employees as he made his way forward to her. “I have the happiest of Christmas dollars. I fell in love with the most amazing, smart, and beautiful girl, and by some miracle, she says she loves me back.”
Trixie’s breath caught as he stopped to drop the money into the jar. But he didn’t stop there. He continued down until he knelt on one knee in front of her.
Tears filled her vision as her entire body started to shake. She wasn’t sure who, probably Jeff, but someone stepped forward to take the jar from her grasp. Which was good, because she doubted she would have been able to keep a grip on it.
Cayden opened a small metal box. Inside on a bed of red velvet sat a silver banded ring with a diamond embedded on top of it.
An embarrassing squeak escaped her as her hand flew to her mouth. Oh God. Well, she had promised him just a small freak out.
“Beatriz Roberta Romero, I love you with everything I am and everything I have. I made the mistake of thinking I had to leave your side to become a better man, but I was wrong. You make me the best man I could possibly be. You are wonderful and generous, and you took a chance on a biker when no one else would have. I love you and I’m just selfish enough to want to keep you all to myself.” Cayden pulled the ring from its bed of red velvet. Her chin started trembling as he took her left hand into his. He held the band just before her ring finger. His mismatched eyes searched hers. “I want to fix engines together, raise kids together, and grow old together. I want to wake up every day knowing you are mine. Will you marry me?”
Trixie tried with all her might to answer. She really did. Between the clog in her throat and the tears streaming down her cheeks, she was an utter mess. But he was waiting for an answer—hell, everyone in the room was.
“Yes,” she finally managed to croak out. She nodded her head emphatically, wanting to make sure her answer was understood even if her word had not been.
The room exploded in an uproar as Cayden slipped the ring onto her finger. He stood, gathered her up in his arms, and dipped her down in a theatrical kiss.
As everyone converged on them to extend their congratulations, Trixie made sure to keep a strong grip on Cayden’s hand. She was not allowing him to get pulled away from her. Hugs and kisses were offered to her while Cayden received hugs and handshakes. Geordi grabbed Cayden up in a giant bear hug and announced to the room that he was going to be the best best man ever. Trixie laughed and then reminded Geordi that Cayden needed to breathe if he was going to make it to his wedding day.
Greg and Peggy gripped her tightly. They quickly explained that Cayden had shown up at their door that morning and told them everything. Then he asked Greg’s blessing for Trixie’s hand. She gave her man an approving look. He was so sweet. Blood or no, Greg was her oldest family member.
Trixie quickly looked around the room and saw Lee was still leaning against the wall in the back. She dragged Cayden forward and, thankfully, her employees parted when they saw where she was headed.
Lee opened his arms to her as she approached. “Felicitación, abeja.”
She gripped him tightly. “No more secrets,” she told him. “We need to stick together, you and me. Please don’t disappear on me again.”
There was obvious hesitation in his voice, but he still promised and her brother was nothing if not a man of his word.
Smiling, Trixie watched as Cayden and Lee shook hands. It was hard to believe she was this happy, but she was. Lee was back in her life, Cayden was back at her side, and her bay was full of exotic cars.
Life was good.
“Oh!” Cayden said loud enough to catch everyone’s attention. “Seeing as all of you are Petrol-heads, I figured you would get a kick out of this too.” To Trixie, he said, “Look at your ring.”
She did. It was chrome with a single diamond sitting raised on the top. She tipped her hand side to side to try to see what he wanted her to. Her jaw dropped when she saw it.
That cocky, sexy smile that she loved so fucking much was back. “That ring is made out of the same titanium alloy as the Ferrari F1 engine,” Cayden announced to the room.
“What…? How…?” She was so shocked she couldn’t form the questions.
“Let’s just say I called in a couple of favors. All completely legal, of course,” he added, holding his fingers up in a Scout’s salute as he’d done the day they’d met six months ago.
Trixie grabbed his face and kissed him. “Thank you. It’s incredible.”
“Nothing less for my girl.” He pressed his lips to hers again. “Merry Christmas, baby. Thank you for taking a chance on me.”
Trixie didn’t think she’d ever been this happy in her entire life. “Thank you for being my Christmas miracle.”
Cayden took the ring from her hand and placed it on her left ring finger. Happy tears flowed freely down her cheeks as she stared at the man she loved. It looked like it was going to be a chrome Christmas after all.
