The Girl Who Lived Volume 1 by Moishe Goldman Free Novel Reading Epilogue

Settling comfortably in the shade of a spreading oak tree, I pensively examined the black athame, its blade literally absorbing the sunlight. Alucard once said that sooner or later I would understand its true properties, and it seemed that moment had arrived. After destroying the Abomination’s Horcrux, I realized I had become stronger; this beautiful and terrifying dagger had absorbed the power imbued in the artifact and transferred it to me. How? I don’t know, and frankly, I don’t want to know. The main thing is that my magical powers are now on par with Potter’s; Mia and I confirmed this during our tests. It turns out the athame is capable of absorbing its victim’s power and transferring it to its wielder, but I’m in no rush to test this idea. Something tells me something like this could completely blow my mind, and I’ll turn into a crazed maniac, thirsty for free power. I’m already looking askance at some of the seventh-year students and fighting the wild urge to quietly slit their throats.

Mustering all my willpower, I dispelled the cursed blade and began to admire the sun’s reflections on the calm surface of the Black Lake. My last day at Hogwarts was unusually sunny and hot, so I decided to have a little fun and suggested a small picnic to my friends. But I hadn’t taken one thing into account – it turns out I have a lot of friends! Seriously, I didn’t expect so many people to show up, especially from different houses. Still smiling, I turned my head and looked at the assembled group.

The Weasley twins transfigured a barbecue grill and, cheerfully bickering with Anthony, grilled huge slabs of “kosher” meat. Meanwhile, the youngest member of the distinguished Jewish family assisted Daphne and Vega with setting the table, vigorously demonstrating to the pureblood witches that Bohemian glass goblets were completely incompatible with plastic plates. Lavender and the Patil sisters, giggling together, helped Diana set the tables with plates of various delicacies and treats. Standing nearby, Mia and Elvira filled crystal decanters with juice and placed them in an ice-filled cooler. A little to the side, a group of Ron, Justin, and the Slytherin second-year jocks were flying kites. A happy Luna scurried alongside the boys, slapping her bare feet in the grass and humming a cheerful tune. Our blonde angel was catching butterflies with a net, then feeding the insects to Flora, who was circling around her. There were cries of delight, and I turned my gaze back to the lake.

Standing knee-deep in water, their fishing rods cast aside, Ginny and Romulus showed off their successful catch. Colin immediately materialized next to them and began taking photos of the proud first years—surely they’d pulled such a huge fish out of the lake. Then Percy and Penelope approached the boys, and the red-haired prefect immediately recognized the fish as edible and quite tasty, handing it to his fiancée. The girl, unfazed, immediately pulled out her wand. Now I understand why Mrs. Weasley approved of Crystal—in just a couple of minutes, she gutted the enormous trout and cut it into steaks, then strode confidently to the grill. Watching Anthony lecture an older girl on how to properly cook this delicacy, I caught myself thinking how much I cared about all these people.

In my past life, I had no friends, just a few acquaintances who turned away at the first opportunity. Of course, there was Alyoshka and his parents, but that was something else entirely. And now, thanks to a second chance, I was making up for lost time. Of course, everything could change in the future, but for now, I was simply enjoying the moment. Looking once again at carefree Luna and serious Elvira, I raised my eyes to the heavens and silently thanked the Creator. How glad I am that my friends are all right and that Mrazota’s potion hadn’t affected them in any way. I didn’t show it outwardly, but over the past few months, a nagging doubt had periodically crept into my head; I felt as if I’d never see my friends alive again. So, when the girls opened their eyes and began sleepily looking around, I felt an incredible sense of relief. Naturally, I was present when the students were brought out of their magical coma, and there were several reasons for that.

Let’s start with the fact that the “awakening” that occurred four days ago was almost ruined by the Filth, damn him! When the Prince started acting up and trying to sabotage the resurrection ritual, Tom’s stub couldn’t think of anything smarter than to force the Potion Master to drink that same modified Draught of Living Death, the prudent bitch. So, when the mandrakes ripened in the greenhouses, we had a problem – there was no one to brew the antidote! The Potion Masters Lucius contacted all set exorbitant prices and a minimum lead time of a couple of weeks. And if we didn’t care about the money, we couldn’t wait that long. So I had to take matters into my own hands and bring in Hector Dagworth. The eccentric genius wasn’t thrilled with my request and initially declined, citing his busy schedule and work on a crucial project, but after a little persuasion, he agreed. Now I understand why Dumbledore valued the Prince so highly, since in Wizarding Britain, specialists of his caliber can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Besides bringing the Mandrake Tonic, I also had to explain the party’s policies—pardon the phrase—to my awakened friends, the cover story concocted by Malfoy and Dumbledore. To avoid tarnishing the honor and reputation of his family, and his daughter in particular, the illustrious lord had to turn to the bearded old man for help. Of course, he could have done without him, but who would be more credible: a former Death Eater, albeit acquitted, or a great wizard of light? Surprisingly, Albus agreed almost immediately, though first we had to tell him everything. Upon learning that the Malfoy library had been keeping the Abomination Horcrux for many years, the real headmaster lost his temper and spent several minutes beating Lucius with his fists, feet, and Malfoy’s cane. It even seemed to me that the kind grandfather even gave the illustrious man a couple of good kicks with the bells in his beard… When Dumbledore had run out of steam and calmed down a bit, he demanded the remains of the damned diary for his help and… That’s it. Some might have thought that the selfless, kind grandfather simply decided to help, but I understand that Malfoy is now in his debt, and sooner or later this debt will have to be repaid.

During a joint brainstorming session, the two headmasters concocted a legend so idiotic and fantastical that everyone instantly believed it! Seriously! It turns out the students weren’t being attacked by some villain, but by a thousand-year-old basilisk, which had gone slightly insane with age and forgotten the teachings of the great Salazar Slytherin. All this was revealed thanks to the efforts of Rigel Hellsing and Hermione Granger. The true Gryffindors, demonstrating courage, bravery, and remarkable intelligence, were able to find the entrance to the legendary Chamber of Secrets, where the ancient monster resided. Having discovered the source of the threat, the girls immediately reported everything to the noble Lord Malfoy, who then turned to the great Dumbledore for help. After all, everyone knows that the immortal guardian of Hogwarts recognizes only the true headmaster. The great light wizard immediately responded to the call for help and, demonstrating his wisdom and heroism, was able to bring the ancient serpent to his senses.

Malfoy and Dumbledore relayed this nonsense to the entire school before breakfast. The pair delivered their speeches with such pomposity and enthusiasm (they’d clearly been rehearsing all night) that even I began to doubt the Horcrux’s existence. I knew Albus was a great orator, but Lucius was practically his equal. The duo of illustrious Scheherazades nearly brought half the students to orgasm with their speeches, so heroic and epic did the permitted speeches sound. And then, when everyone was assured that the disaster had passed and the students were no longer in danger, the light wizard waved his hand dramatically, and the injured students entered the Great Hall. Needless to say, most of the students bruised their palms during the standing ovation. Overall, the performance was a success, but the real circus began later, when the evil Minister of Magic arrived at Hogwarts accompanied by DMLE investigators and Aurors.

“Can’t get enough of her?” A blonde’s sarcastic voice came from behind her. “Two-time school heroine.”

– I have the right. – I turned and saw Diana smiling. – The photo turned out great.

“I don’t argue, you came out great there.” The Slytherin chuckled and sat down next to her. “You could be on the cover of Witchweek.”

I couldn’t help but glance at the Prophet lying nearby, its front page emblazoned with a huge photograph in the style of “Red Army soldiers against the backdrop of an armored train.” Only instead of an armored train, it was Gulfik, and the Red Army soldiers were high-ranking wizards, with me, tucked in among them, right in the center. The headline of this tabloid read:The Minister of Magic saves HogwarFudge initially disbelieved the legend and demanded to see a basilisk that was sane and safe for the school, forcing me to act as guide and translator. The Minister was initially taken aback by the combination of “me and Parseltongue,” but then he himself forced his subordinates to sign non-disclosure agreements. According to Cornelius, the important wizard had requested that he be addressed as such, as this information could reflect poorly on my good and noble name. But what surprised me more than this was the Minister of Magic’s reaction to the Chamber of Secrets and its occupant. While his subordinates trembled with fear and nervously huddled toward the exit, Fudge admired in awe the enormous basilisk swallowing a dozen cows. And when the ancient serpent had sated and grown plump, our Minister began petting it like a house cat. Perhaps he and Hagrid were distant relatives?

“Fudge tamed a thousand-year-old basilisk, well, well.” Malfoy chuckled and looked away from the newspaper. “Will anyone really believe this nonsense?”

“The students believed Dumbledore, didn’t they?” I put the pulp fiction back in my bag and smiled. “The main thing is, we managed to keep your good name.”

“It turned out to be an expensive pleasure…” Diana grumbled. “Now our family will have to pay…”

“Don’t play poor,” I interrupted the blonde. “Elvira and Luna signed a non-disclosure agreement without any demands, and there were no problems with the others either.”

“Yeah,” the girl grunted unaristocratically. “Even Papa was stunned when you held the blade of the enchanted sword to Chang’s throat.”

“What about her?” For a moment, my inner thug woke up. “Everything was explained to her clearly, and she started asserting her rights. I was really nervous, so…”

– Was it necessary to break her jaw?

“Some people don’t understand it any other way…” I grumbled in response. “But Chang signed the magical contract without question.”

“Rigel, thank you…” The Slytherin sat down next to me and leaned on my shoulder. “For everything. If it weren’t for you…”

– Come on, I couldn’t do otherwise. – I hugged the fragile girl. – How are you?

“You know…” Diana paused, her face twisting in disgust. “For the last few days, I’ve been haunted by this persistent feeling that some pervert has stuck his dirty paw into my panties and touched my most intimate place…”

– I understand… – I hugged the blonde tighter. – Be strong.

“And the most offensive thing is that I just took a book off the shelf!” the girl continued sharing her pain. “At first, I thought it was an old cheat sheet, because the diary answered all the questions, which seemed very useful, and then…” the girl sighed heavily. “I tried to get rid of it, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t even tell Mom about it, and then I started to lose myself completely… You can’t even imagine what it’s like to not remember your actions… And all this time, HE completely possessed my body… Brrr… Disgusting…”

“This feeling will pass with time.” I patted the girl on the shoulder. “Better listen to how I drove away the Unspeakables…”

“By the way, yes! There are ritual circles there from the time of the founders…” The girl glanced suspiciously. “Uncle Regulus was very upset that they weren’t allowed to explore this room because of the basilisk. Did the codpiece really say it hibernates and will eat anyone who disturbs it?”

– Of course! – I made my most honest eyes. – How could I deceive the Minister of Magic?!

We looked at each other and a moment later burst out laughing.

“He’s blind,” the Slytherin continued after laughing. “And not that dangerous.”

“But they don’t know about that.” I shrugged. “At my request, Codpiece greeted the guests with his eyes closed.”

“And rightly so, there’s nothing to do there.” Diana nodded and turned her gaze to the lake. “I hope Dumbledore seals the entrance to those dungeons with the Fidelius Curse… I’ll never set foot there again!”

The girl fell silent, and I pondered her insight. Dumbledore really had decided to conceal the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets with the Fidelius Curse, since it held knowledge best left undisclosed to the modern generation. The bearded old man told me of his decision this morning, and at the same time “delighted” me with the promise that I would be the keeper of this secret, as if he trusted me. Yeah, I believed him. My paranoia insisted I was simply the only key that could open this door. But it was still comforting, especially since my empathy spoke of the Headmaster’s sincerity. Well, screw this Chamber of Secrets, especially since I’d photographed all those ancient rune circles and sent the film to the Order a month ago. The main thing is that everything ended well, and no one was hurt…

“Izya, damn you!” My thoughts were interrupted by Diana’s angry scream. “King prawns should be served on porcelain plates, not inside yourselves!”

“Oh, vey! Diana, it was an accident!” I turned my head and saw a chubby Jewish boy actively working his jaws. “They’re much tastier than the regular ones, especially for free!”

“Did our Slytherin queen really skimp on some sea roaches for the poor boy?” Anthony stood up for his brother, his face smeared with foie gras. “I’ve actually tried that vaunted goose liver of yours, and I can honestly say that Aunt Rachel’s mincemeat is much tastier…”

– Then put the plate back! – The Slytherin girl screamed. – And anyway, stop eating! Leave it for the others!

“You don’t understand, our people starved for forty years, and now we’re taking what’s ours!” Goldstein Sr. popped a tablespoon of black caviar into his mouth. “And here we have such abundance, especially since Grandma Pesya always said Izya and I are so skinny…”

– Can we come to the table already? – Ron’s voice was heard.

– Finally! – Crabbe agreed.

– Give me more warm salad! – Goyle shouted.

– Stop! – The blonde jumped up from her seat. – The meat isn’t ready yet, and this is the main course! We must all sit at the table together and nothing else! Does everyone understand me?

“Rigel, what are you shouting about?” Hagrid, who appeared out of nowhere, caught my attention. “I see you’re having a nice party, huh?”

– A little picnic. – I smiled at the half-giant. – Where are you from?

– I was, you know, on the third floor. In that, what’s it called, prayer room, yeah. – The forester blushed. – You don’t mind, do you?

– No, of course not! – I stood up. – And what prompted you to visit the chapel?

“I don’t know myself.” The big man shrugged. “It’s good there, yeah. It makes my soul feel lighter and I breathe differently there, yeah. So sometimes I come there and, looking at those images, I share my secrets, yeah. Rigel, you, don’t think anything bad, but I won’t tell you what I said there. It’s personal, yeah.”

“Hagrid, it’s okay.” I smiled and took the big man’s hand. “Would you like to join us?”

– So, this, how can I? – The forester blushed even more. – You have your own company here, and I, you know…

– Not a stranger. – I smiled back. – So what?

“Mr. Hagrid,” Diana looked sweetly at the huge man. “You won’t refuse us, will you?”

I don’t know why, but the Slytherin decided to support me, and there was no hint of contempt or hatred in her expression. It seems the Scum’s influence had a rather favorable effect on her, or she simply wanted to please me, it doesn’t matter.

“Malfoy?” Hagrid looked questioningly at the girl, and she nodded. “You look a lot like your mom, yeah. Just got your daddy’s posture and chin. Oh, I remember how Narcissa got the better of that Gryffindor, yeah, he lifted her skirt, can you believe it?”

“Could you elaborate?” Diana looked at the giant with interest and was immediately distracted by the laid tables. “Weasley! Stop eating! That’s for everyone!”

“You have fun here, yeah.” Hagrid looked around the clearing we occupied with a smile. “I can bring you some more goodies.”

“By the time you bring them, one red-headed glutton will have gobbled everything up, so it’s not worth it.” Malfoy grabbed the forester’s hand and dragged him toward the grill. “Better tell me about my mother. Who did she beat up?”

“Well… Okay…” The half-giant was taken aback by this address. “I remember it like it was yesterday, she was in her fifth, no, sixth year, yeah. Right, she was already class monitor, yeah. So…”

I smiled and watched the three-meter giant and the blonde girl go. My stomach was craving delicious food, and my ears were filled with interesting stories, which were just a stone’s throw away. But my ass was quietly whispering that something was waiting ahead that would make all my previous adventures seem like a cakewalk. What exactly was waiting ahead? Well, we’ll see, but if anyone wanted to harm my friends and loved ones, they’d have a long and painful death. Listening to my lower brain again, I decided to put off the heavy thoughts for later and, while I could, rest and relax with friends…On the outskirts of the village of Hogsmeade, perched on a high hill, stood the most prestigious and expensive tavern in Wizarding Britain, the Hog’s Head. This establishment was frequented by venerable lords and high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Magic. The wealthy and influential wizards weren’t at all bothered by the fact that Dumbledore’s younger brother owned the tavern. On the contrary, many later boasted that Dumbledore himself filled their glasses and brought the bill. Respected wizards loved this establishment not only for its luxury and excellent cuisine; many came here to admire the magnificent views of Hogwarts and its surroundings. Aberforth understood this, so his tavern boasted huge windows and spacious terraces.

But on the day of the students’ departure from Hogwarts, the popular establishment was empty, understandably so: the esteemed wizards were preparing to welcome their offspring and had no time for restaurants. So, only one guest sat in the third-floor dining room, seated at a table by the window and admiring the red steam locomotive as it receded into the distance. Albus Dumbledore—for it was he—sipped from his glass and aristocratically dabbed his lips with a napkin, causing the bells in his beard to jingle melodically.

– Grandpa Albi, Grandpa Albi! – A red-haired girl who looked about five years old flew into the room. – Look what I found!

The girl ran up and proudly handed him a smooth, heart-shaped stone.

“Ariana, you’re a real treasure hunter!” the light wizard praised the child. “How beautiful.”

“This is for you,” the girl blushed a little. “I gave Grandpa Abi almost the same one, he liked it too.”

“Thank you.” Dumbledore put the gift in his pocket and patted the child on the head. “I’ll put it in the most prominent place. By the way, where is your mother?”

“They went to Honeydukes with Dad.” Ariana smiled expectantly. “We’ll be eating cake soon.”

– What about the vegetable stew?

– Grandpa, could you make some butterflies? – The sly girl changed the subject. – Please!

– Okay, but promise me you’ll eat the whole plate.

– Ooooooooday, – the child muttered. – You’re that, what’s his name, blackmailer, huh!

Dumbledore beamed, then extended his arms, and butterflies fluttered from his open palms. Pollen rained from their enormous, multicolored, and faintly glowing wings, sparkling like stars in the sunlight. The girl laughed joyfully and clapped her hands, then began chasing the nimble insects. At that moment, a tall, broad-shouldered wizard, apparently in his forties, entered the room. His pale red hair was streaked with gray, and wrinkles were beginning to appear on his clean-shaven face, but his bright blue eyes sparkled with youthful enthusiasm. Seeing the happy child, Aberforth couldn’t help but smile himself and, drawing his wand, added several colorful canaries to the butterflies. After admiring his contented granddaughter for a moment, he leisurely walked over to his brother and sat down on an empty chair.

“Congratulations.” The innkeeper nodded toward the horizon, beyond which the Hogwarts Express had disappeared. “The brats have gone home, and now we can rest.”

“Brother, I’ve been resting for a couple of months now.” The Hogwarts Headmaster gestured, transfiguring a glass and filling it with red wine. “I’m even a little tired of doing nothing.”

“Of course, of course.” Aberforth nodded, then took a few sips. “Did you manage to do everything?”

“A lot…” Albus leaned back in his chair. “Cornelius, without realizing it, helped me strengthen the Light Party’s position and push through several important bills. It’s amazing how much time Hogwarts takes up…”

“By the way, Headmaster, you’re so observant, how did you miss Tom’s Horcrux? That thing’s been lurking right under your nose for a whole year!” Dumbledore Jr. looked at his brother seriously. “If he’d been reborn, all our plans would have gone down the drain.”

“The artifact is well shielded, and the castle’s security systems didn’t detect it,” the light mage muttered. “I’ve already made changes to the defenses. If it weren’t for Hellsing…”

“Hellsing… Hellsing again…” The innkeeper frowned. “Albus, are you sure? This girl is too cruel and bloodthirsty, and completely uncontrollable. And your idea…”

“She is the chosen one,” Dumbledore Sr. interrupted his brother.

“Okay, but you’re forgetting about her mother.” Aberforth drained his glass in one gulp. “Do you think she’ll allow it?”

“I’m sure.” The light mage smiled into his beard. “You’ll see, by the end of her fifth year, young Miss Hellsing will obey me like she would her own grandfather.”

“Be careful she doesn’t send you to a nursing home.” The innkeeper twitched his cheek. “And her mother can arrange a way to the cemetery, I heard…”

“How long is your daughter coming for?” Albus interrupted his brother and looked affectionately at the girl running nearby.

“Until the end of July.” The red-haired wizard followed his brother’s gaze and broke into a satisfied smile. “So I’ll be babysitting this fidget for another month.”

– Hmm, maybe tomorrow we can go to Diagon Alley and get some ice cream? Grandpas should spoil their granddaughters, right?

– What about Hogwarts?

“Technically, I’m still on vacation.” Dumbledore Sr. chuckled. “Malfoy was unpleasantly surprised by the number of annual reports, but no matter, it will be useful to him.”

– Ice cream?! – Ariana appeared next to the grandfathers as if by magic. – How about we go to the toy store?

“Of course.” Aberforth couldn’t refuse the child. “I think it’s time you got a broom.”

– The fastest! – The girl jumped for joy.

Albus looked into the child’s shining eyes, and thoughts of Tom, the Ministry of Magic, and other such nonsense left his head. Now he was simply a grandfather who, together with his brother, had decided to spoil his beloved granddaughter. So he happily spent the rest of the day discussing an entertainment program for a certain fidgety girl.

Sirius Black sat in his room, his gaze pensively mesmerized by a small glass jar labeled “Buddy.” His attention was focused on the objects floating inside, suspended in alcohol, which any veterinarian would immediately recognize as dog testicles. Sirius turned away from the jar and glanced at a gift box with a cute pink bow on the lid. He had received this package a couple of hours ago, and although the sender was unspecified, he knew perfectly well who had sent it.

“Okay, sweetie, the tease counts.” Black looked at the glass jar again. “There you go… You little brat, no matter, I’ll definitely find a way to rein you in and bring you back to your family! You’ll see…”A deformed infant, completely bald and with skin a disgusting, dirty gray, fidgeted uncomfortably in its crib. An ancient book, bound in black human skin, hovered before the little one, and it turned the pages with a wand clutched in its tiny hands. Despite the sunny day outside, the room was pleasantly dim, but this didn’t stop the creature from reading, as its eyes glowed red. The infant heard footsteps in the hallway and was distracted from its intriguing reading; soon a young wizard in a thick black robe entered the room.

– My lord. – The guest fell to one knee from the threshold.

“Hello, my faithful friend,” the baby hissed in a sepulchral voice. “Get up!”

– Thank you, my lord. – The visitor straightened up. – I have good news.

– Make me happy, my faithful friend. – The kid’s eyes sparkled.

“I’ve completed the first stage of the calculations,” the wizard replied proudly.

– How long must I remain in this terrible body?

“Um…” The guest looked confused. “It will take us about a year to perfect the ritual and gather the necessary ingredients.”

– Why is it taking so long? – the deformed baby screamed.

“My lord, please be patient.” Voldemort’s follower dropped to one knee again. “Creating the perfect body is no easy task, and we also want to restore your mental health…”

“Forgive me, my faithful friend.” The ugly creature shook its head. “I still have trouble controlling myself…”

“Not much time left.” The visitor straightened up. “I promise, your new body will possess unprecedented power, and you will rightfully become the most powerful wizard in the world.”

“I never doubted you, my faithful friend.” The dark lord’s grey face twisted into a disgusting smile. “Did you bring it?”

“Of course, everything as you asked.” The wizard turned around and commanded loudly. “Come in!”

A tall teenage girl with long black hair and aristocratic features obediently entered the room. The visitor waved his wand, and white streaks appeared in her hair, and her glassy, unfocused eyes turned a bright green. After a moment’s thought, the Dark Lord’s follower waved his concentrator again, and the girl’s turquoise sundress changed into a Hogwarts school uniform.

“Excellent.” The freak whispered contentedly and pointed his wand at the silent guest. “Crucio!”

The room immediately filled with heart-rending girls’ screams and quiet, hissing laughter. The visitor, unwilling to watch the Dark Lord’s dalliances, silently left the room and quickly walked out of the house, hidden by the Fidelius. Once outside, the wizard once again checked the old mansion’s wards and Apparated to the Ministry of Magic’s porch. The Dark Lord was certainly important, but work was still a priority.Huashan, one of the Five Sacred Mountains of Taoism in the Qin Empire, was located in the Qinling Mountains of Shaanxi Province, near the county town of Huayin. There are no, and never have been, any important government installations or military bases at the foot of this stronghold, so the intelligence of neighboring countries paid no attention to it. Even if a Soviet or other satellite had flown over the mountain, it would still have missed the well-camouflaged entrance to the fortified bunker. The underground shelter was comparable in size to a small city, its corridors and squares filled with soldiers in black uniforms with swastikas on their left shoulders.

On one of the lower levels was a spacious and richly decorated office. Its occupant was a plump, fair-haired man dressed in an SS uniform with general’s epaulettes. This Aryan reclined languidly in a soft leather chair in front of a massive mahogany desk, smoking a cigar as he studied a voluminous stack of documents. After reading the contents of one page, he chuckled contentedly, then pulled a bottle of expensive French wine from the top drawer and filled an elegant glass. But a soft knock on the door interrupted his sip.

“Come in,” the Reichsführer shouted discontentedly, but nevertheless took a sip of the noble, aromatic drink.

The door opened silently, and a tall, slender woman in a white coat—as the Russians would say, “barely worn”—entered the room. The beautiful visitor proudly lifted her head, causing her short, golden hair to become slightly disheveled, and adjusted her square, silver-rimmed glasses. This beautiful representative of the Aryan race smiled predatorily and raised her right hand toward the sun. The boss returned the gesture, though with a deliberately languid and lazy air.

– My Fuhrer, have you read my report?

“Yes, Dr. Mengele, and the results are, to put it mildly, astonishing.” The chief Nazi smiled contentedly. “The samples passed field testing with flying colors.”

“But, my Führer, their low intelligence worries me.” The female scientist grimaced slightly. “If only our supersoldiers were a little smarter…”

“Doctor, you were right – soldiers. The Greater Reich needs soldiers, not philosophers and thinkers!” The SS General rose from his chair. “You’ve done a tremendous job and achieved amazing results. But don’t forget the stuff these fighters are made of. These pathetic, inferior creatures are fundamentally incapable of thought! The task of the warriors you’ve created is blind loyalty and unquestioning obedience to orders from representatives of the proud Aryan race. Is that clear?”

– Yes, my Führer. – Mengele nodded. – What about the working material?

“Don’t worry, Doctor, that won’t be a problem.” The Reichsführer sat down and chuckled. “The Chinese Emperor will supply as much cattle as you need.”

“Thank you,” the woman smiled contentedly. “Even though production is well established, the mortality rate among test subjects is quite high.”

“What did you expect from these lesser creatures?” the SS man chuckled. “By the way, how are things going with the other project?”

– Not everything is as smooth as we would like, you see, so far we have only managed to obtain one viable sample…

– The reason?

“The requirements for the source material are high.” Mengele looked at her superior, her aristocratic face twisting in disgust. “These… lower life forms are unable to survive the transformation; their organisms are too weak.”

“Understood, continue working.” The general stood up again. “Doctor, remember, we are working for the good of the Great Reich!”

– Heil! – The woman stood at attention, her swollen nipples visible through her thin robe, and raised her right hand towards the sun.

– Free to go!

– Eat!

Reichsführer Thunberg waited until the mad but brilliant scientist had left his office and then leaned back in his chair. He was very pleased; soon he would have an invincible and unstoppable army, and then…

– Erhard, how did you manage to persuade the Emperor? – A petite girl with black fox ears appeared on the armrest of his chair.

“Greta, there’s no chain of command.” The Nazi chuckled and patted the huli-dzin on the head. “It’s simple, I promised that incompetent idiot Siberia and the Far East.”

– And he believed it? – The humanoid fox twitched its nose comically.

– I know how to be convincing.

“And what will you do when you have an army?” The girl slid onto the man’s lap. “I overheard a couple of your deputies, and you know, they dream of freeing Grindelwald.”

“Fools…” Thunberg hugged the fox. “We don’t need this loser anymore. He gave up great power himself, and now he’ll rot in his own prison for the rest of his life!”

– He is still respected and revered.

“His past achievements don’t interest me. Gellert simply wanted to change this rotten world, and I…” The Nazi’s eyes glowed a putrid yellow. “I want to destroy him!”
